The City of Toronto is developing a public art strategy and retained PROCESS to facilitate internal and external consultations to communicate the project purpose and to collect feedback. The overall goal of the consultations is to ensure the public art strategy is reflective of a diversity of perspectives.

As part of the process, we have led nine (9) focus groups with various stakeholders and organized public consultations across the City. Our team recommended an artist and community led approach to the public consultations. We worked with the City to hire six (6) artists from across Toronto to lead the consultations. These artists, with experience in community engagement, were involved in both the preparation and the sense-making of the feedback received. In addition, PROCESS led one large public open house, which includes a panel discussion and walking tour, and arts-based activities. A report was distributed in August 2019, highlighting the process and what we heard from the various participants.
