Children’s Services the Service Plan 2020-2024
2019-Ongoing
Every five (5) years, Toronto Children’s Services creates a new Service Plan, a Council approved document that sets a vision and guide for the City’s child and family service system including early learning and child care in Toronto.
To help inform this plan, Children’s Services hired PROCESS, in partnership with GPA, to learn about children and families’ experiences in Toronto with child care and early years programs. PROCESS is taking a user-research approach. We have designed a mobile pop-up and activities for children and adults to engage with at community events, early learning centres and Toronto Public Libraries across the city. We are asking questions about how participants experience and perceive childcare in the City. We are then visualizing feedback received in the form of user experience (UX) maps. Our team has also hired local champions from diverse areas of the city, to help collect feedback within their communities.
